Happy Valentines Day!

Hello my lovelies!
Sorry our post is late. I've been busy celebrating Valentines Day. I had an amazing lunch with friends followed by a divine nap. Then it was Netflix on the big screen, a rare treat since I share TV privileges with a houseful. Of course, I had some extra special time with my Valentine!
"Valentine, you say? Does this come with extra treats?"
Hope you all had a wonderful day filled with love!
XOXO Meaghan (and Scarlett, who did get extra Valentines Day treats!)

My Big Day!

Hello my lovely followers,
Scarlett O'Hare here to tell you all about my big party. I was supposed to be able to post this morning as promised but Mommy hogged the computer. Like work is an acceptable reason to keep me from my public!
Here I am enjoying a present.... I wish Mommy took better pictures!

Anyways, yesterday was my big party! I had so much fun and way too many treats... In fact, I'm still recovering from all the fun. Mommy spent all day decorating the house. There were bunnies everywhere! Even better, there were pictures of me all over.
Oh look, bunnies!
Picture of me! They really were lovely.

All of my friends and family came too! I have a lot of human family for a bunny. Mommy says I'm not allowed to post pictures of them because of privacy. But I can share a picture of my favorite bunny friend!
This is Mr. Bunnz. Mom likes to make jokes about him being the strong silent type. Humans!
I had 9 people visit me for my big day! Some even brought presents. Of course, I was happy to see everyone regardless but presents are always nice.
My Goodies
There seemed to be all sorts of tasty human food. Not that I got any! My grandma did make me a bunny-shaped cake. Again, I still didn't get to eat any! I did get some nice cranberries and a bunny biscuit.
My Bunny Cake- Thanks Grandma!
Me and Grandma
Mommy unveiled a portrait of me for my party. I've been waiting to finally have a painting of myself in my room... I have one of Mommy's previous bunny. I thought I deserved a portrait too! After all, I help Mommy run Wigglesworth Pet Portraits... It's only fair I got my own portrait. I think Mommy did a wonderful job! It looks just like me. I kinda think I need a crown but Mom disagrees. I'll wear her down eventually!
Finally! My portrait
I'd say I had a really great party! There was love, craisins, and lots of bunnies! The humans seemed to have fun too. I mean, how could they not? There was pizza, cake, and me! Everything needed for fun! I think I need another nap just thinking about all the excitement. Maybe some dinner too. Well, I better go remind Mom that dinner is late!
XOXO Scarlett O'Hare
There were even Scarlett-themed favors!

Scarlett's First Gotcha Day

Hello Blogo-Buddies,
This Sunday marks a BIG day for Scarlett: It's her first Gotcha Day! I can't believe it has been a year since we adopted each other. I wish I could say ours was a love at first sight but in reality, we were both too damaged to love each other immediately. I had just lost my first bunny suddenly to GI stasis; Scarlett was an abused bunny who spent several months with a rescue group waiting for a forever home. We needed each other in a bad way!
Scarlett's First Picture
When I first brought her home, she was jumpy and shy. I couldn't touch her or move near her. Hands seemed to scare her most of all. Even when uncertain and scared, Scarlett remained curious. I could see she was really a curious and bossy bunny under her frightened exterior (That's how she got her name: Scarlett O'Hare). I remember sitting on the floor with her one night staring at each other (we did the a lot in the first few months) and telling her that I would wait as long as it took for her to be comfortable with me. It took about six months before I could pet her. It was another 2 months before she started seeking me out for love and play. In the meantime, she saw me through grief so deep I thought I wouldn't survive. We saved each other in every sense!
A Happy Scarlett
Today, Scarlett is a happy and trusting rabbit who no longer fears hands or new people. As predicted, she is a bossy bit of business who likes to nip and nudge people until they move where she wants them. Scarlett has revealed her unnatural intelligence in several elaborate escape plans. Her great-grandfather (an engineer) frequently declares things bunny-proof only to be foiled by Scarlett and her nefarious plans.  She has come so far this year. I am so proud of her. I am proud to be her mommy!
In honor of Scarlett and her incredible accomplishments, we are having a little party. This Sunday shall be Scarlett's Big Day, a celebration of her first year! There will be food, family, friends fun, and of course, a bunny theme! We wish we could have each and every one of you join us but the next best thing:
Tune in Monday morning for pictures and stories from the party!
XOXO, Meaghan
